TRT 2, by Turkey Radio and Television Corporation October 6, 1986 [1] [2] has started to broadcast in history. Turkey’s first arts and culture channel.

For a period, TRT 2 broadcasted an English newsletter, programs named Painter Bob, Pop Clock, Towards Evening etc. and many foreign serials have been published. The broadcast of the channel took place every night at 01:00, closing with the Independence Anthem and opening every morning between 07:00. In addition, TRT Main News Bulletin generation was jointly broadcast with TRT 1 and TRT Avrasya together with TRT int. TRT 2 broadcasted jointly with TRT Gap until 2001, later dropping its culture and arts focus and transformed into a news-oriented channel since 2001 instead of its format. TRT 2, which continued its broadcasting life for 24 hours, left its terrestrial broadcasting frequencies to TRT Haber on 18 March 2010 and was removed from the broadcast. During his speech, TRT General Manager İbrahim Eren stated that a culture and arts channel will be opened and its name will be TRT 2.
