Prasar Bharati has asked regional Doordarshan TV channels to carry out regular telecasts. Prasar Bharati has issued a letter for this. Prasar Bharati had made available live broadcast feeds of “DD India” and “DD News” to all Regional or State Doordarshan TV Channels for proper use in their transmission due to the lockdown.

 

Since now in view of the easing of lockdown restrictions by the Government of India across India, all the regional language TV channels (RLSS – Regional Language Satellite Services Channels) of Doordarshan including the recently launched new TV channels, DD Uttarakhand, DD Chhattisgarh, and DD Jharkhand are also included, have been asked to regularize their broadcast 24X7.

These channels have been asked to resume their normal programming without dependence on the Clear & Direct feed of DD India and DD News, as this feed will no longer be available to them. It may also be ensured by the RLSS to disseminate information related to Covid-19 in a timely manner and to appropriately incorporate the government’s efforts in this regard in their dissemination.

In addition, other state network channels such as DD Tripura, DD Mizoram, DD Hisar, DD Manipur, DD Nagaland, DD Goa, DD Meghalaya and DD Himachal Pradesh which are beamed from the respective centre are also broadcast on a 24×7 basis. have been directed to continue broadcasting, so that no colour bar is telecast on their channels. Because these TV channels are available on Doordarshan Free Dish as well as other DTH and Cable TV.
